Graduate Program Admissions Responsibilities

Each graduate program at Washington State University is tasked with evaluating and recommending the admission or denial of every applicant. For this process, the following tools are provided:

  • WebAdmit is used by graduate programs when evaluating applicants who have applied through any of the Common Applicant Systems (CAS) such as as GradCAS and EngineeringCAS. The CAS systems are the "front-facing" component of the student application system, whereas WebAdMIT is the graduate program-facing tool used by graduate program coordinators during application evaluation.
  • Admissions Management in myWSU: All admission decisions made via applications uploaded to WebAdMIT must be completed in myWSU. This linked Knowledge Base guides admissions management in myWSU.
    • OBIEE: A dashboard is available to monitor applicant statuses within myWSU.

It's important to process admissions promptly. Delays can impact the university's reputation and recruitment efforts. If there's a significant delay between an application's submission and the final decision, the Vice Provost for Graduate and Professional Education and the Graduate School will contact the relevant program directors.
