Canvas Course Spaces
All Canvas course spaces will remain available in Canvas for five years after the initial semester in which they are taught. Courses are then deleted at the end of the academic year. For example, a course offered in the Fall of 2020 would be deleted in May of 2026.
This policy is implemented in correlation with the University's retention policies found at Business Policies and Procedures Manual under Policy 90-01.
Can I store course content outside of this retention policy?
Users may manually export and save Canvas course files. In addition, user sandboxes do not currently have a data retention policy, and are not scheduled to have data removed.
