Issue:

User is not able to open document preview in a new tab.

Solution:

To ensure the document may open, please follow the steps below:

  1. Ensure pop-up blocker is allowing Canvas to open links in a new window.
  2. Disconnect from any personal VPNs when accessing Canvas. It was found previously that these VPNs can cause issues in opening documents in a new window.
  3. Remove any web browser extensions that may cause issues.
    Examples of this include Adblocker, Grammarly, Honey, Tampermonkey, Ghostery.
    It is recommended to delete the extensions when trying to access Canvas as some of the extensions even cause issues even if they have been disabled.

If certain extensions are required for a user, it is suggested to have one browser (Chrome/Edge/Firefox) dedicated for Canvas with no extensions installed outside of the typical browser utilized.
