How do I send email from a shared mailbox?
Do I need to add a shared email account to my "From list" to be able to send as that account in Outlook?
Answer:
Send email from a shared mailbox in the Outlook web app:
- Login https://email.wsu.edu with your WSU email address and password.
- Click on your initials or profile picture on the upper-right corner and select Open another mailbox to search for the shared mailbox.
- Type the email address of the shared mailbox that you want to open and click Open. This will open the shared mailbox in a new browser window.
- In the new browser window, click New mail to start a new message.
- In the new message pane, review the From section to confirm you are sending from the shared mailbox email address.
Send email from a shared mailbox in the Outlook desktop app:
- Open the Outlook app on your Windows or Mac device.
- Start a new email message.
If you do not see the From field at the top of your message, click Options and then click From within the Show Fields menu.
- In your new email, click the From field and select the shared mailbox from the drop-down menu. This drop-down will allow you to alternate between your WSU email address and the shared mailbox.
