Did you set up more than one Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) device?

If you set up more than one Multi-Factor Authentication device, you can use your available MFA device on login, and then remove the lost/stolen device from your MFA Options in your Account Settings.

  1. Navigate to account.wsu.edu
  2. Sign in with your WSU network ID and password.
  3. Click the Verify with something else link to get the system to show you all the MFA Options you have set up.  Pick one of the other choices you have access to.
  4. Once fully logged in, click on the WSU Account Settings tile.
  5. On the right, in the Security Methods box, click the Remove button next to the lost or stolen device.
  6. Removal of the lost or stolen device is complete.

Lost your only device, and have a replacement?

If you lost your only Extra Verification device, or it was stolen, and you have a replacement, please follow these steps.

  1. Please make sure you have your replacement device with you. For example, if you lost your smartphone, make sure you have your replacement smartphone with you.
  2. During business hours, contact the Crimson Service Desk. They can reset your MFA Options.
  3. On your next login, the system will prompt you to set up at least one of the MFA Options on your way through the WSU Login Page.

If you lost your only Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) device, and you don’t currently have a replacement, contact the Crimson Service Desk at 509-335-HELP (4357) or 1-800-608-3839, or email us at crimsonservicedesk@wsu.edu  for assistance.
