Did you set up more than one Extra Verification Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) device?
If you set up more than one Extra Verification Multi-Factor Authentication device, you can use your available Extra Verification device to remove your lost or stolen deviceMFA device on login, and then remove the lost/stolen device from your MFA Options in your Account Settings.
- Navigate to account.wsu.edu
- Sign in with your WSU network ID and password.
- Choose the authentication method that allows you to sign in using the Extra Verification device you have with you.
- Scroll to Extra Verification for your lost or stolen device.
- Click the Verify with something else link to get the system to show you all the MFA Options you have set up. Pick one of the other choices you have access to.
- Once fully logged in, click on the WSU Account Settings tile.
- On the right, in the Security Methods box, click the Remove Click the reset button next to the lost or stolen device.
- Removal of the lost or stolen device is complete.

- Please make sure you have your replacement device with you. For example, if you lost your smartphone, make sure you have your replacement smartphone with you.
- During business hours, contact the Crimson Service Desk. They can reset your lost deviceMFA Options.
- Navigate to account.wsu.edu
- Sign in with your WSU Network ID and password.
- Scroll to Extra Verification and click SETUP for your new device.
- Follow the prompts. If you have any questions, refer to Getting StartedOn your next login, the system will prompt you to set up at least one of the MFA Options on your way through the WSU Login Page.
