When you login to the Okta account settings site (https://account.wsu.edu ), you will need to click on the "Edit Profile" button on the top right, and verify your password to . This will take you to where you can edit your profile settings and get to locate the "Extra Verification" box.

Once you are on the Editable Profile Screeneditable profile screen:

  1. Scroll down to the "Extra Verification" section.
     
  2. Select at least one method of Extra Verification (MFA). (Note: If you set up more than on one method of Extra Verification (MFA) your MFA, you will have the option to choose your preferred verification method on at every log inlogin.)


Okta Verify Mobile App


  1. Under "Extra Verification - Okta Verify Mobile App," click on the Setup setup icon.
  2. On the "Setup Okta Verify" screen, click the device type icon.
  3. Click "Next." 
  4. Follow instruction the instructions to Install install the Okta Verify mobile Mobile App for your device.
  5. Launch the Okta Verify application and select "Add Account." (you Note: You may be asked to allow Okta access to your camera for QR scanning).
  6. Scan the QR code on the screen which will to configure the application.
  7. Click "Done" to complete the process.
  8. You will then be prompted to sign into in to Okta to complete the "Verify" factor.
  9. You will then be prompted to verify a factor - . You can choose the factor in the pop-up menu attached to the right side of the circle in the window.
  10. During this process, you will have received emails confirming the setup.

Google Authenticator Mobile App


  1. Under "Extra Verification – Google Authenticator Mobile App," click on the Setup setup icon.
  2. On the "Setup Google Authenticator" screen, click the device type icon



Install the Google Authenticator App

  1. On your mobile device, open the app application store
    • On an iOS device, open the "Apple App Store."
    • On an Android device, open the "Google Play Store."
  2. Search for and install "Google Authenticator.

  3. Open the Google Authenticator app.

  4. Tap "Scan a barcode." (Note: You might may need to additionally install the "Barcode Scanner" app; follow ). Follow the prompts, and then re-tap "Scan a barcode."
  5. Hold your device up to the computer screen and scan the barcode.
  6. Click "Next." 

    Complete the Okta Login login process 
  7. Type the A Google Authenticator code appearing will appear on your mobile device, . Type the code into the "Setup Google Authenticator" screen on your computer, and click "Verify."

Text Message Code


  1. Under "Extra Verification – Text Message Code," click on the Setup setup icon.
  2. On the SMS "Set Up Text Message Verification" screen, type your phone number

  3. Click on "Send Code."

  4. Type the An SMS code received will be sent to your mobile device, into the Receive a code via SMS to authenticate screen on your computer and click Verify. . Type the code into the "Enter Code" field, and click "Verify." 

Voice Call


  1. Under "Extra Verification – Voice Call," click on the Setup setup icon.
  2. Enter your phone number and click "Call." 

  3. Answer the call, and listen for the number that you provided abovecode.
  4. Enter the code that is given.
  5. Click "Verify."

  1. From your account screen, select "Extra Verification

  3. When you see the prompt to do so, insert your security key fob into the your computer's USB port of your computer , and activate the USB key.

Firefox browser -


  41. In Firefox, you must click on the option to "Proceed," , then plug in the device in to finish registration.

Chrome browser -

  1. Insert your security key.


  2. Select "Allow.".


  3. You will then get a confirmation box on the screen.
