VCEA's Remote Access server requires all connections to come from an "on-campus equivalent" network, meaning you must be on-campus, or be connected to WSU's SSL VPN to use this service. Please see one of the following links for instructions on setting up WSU's SSL VPN on your computer:

If you get stuck at any point during this tutorial, please contact the VCEA IT Helpdesk.

  1. Navigate to connect.vcea.wsu.edu in a web browser, and log in with your WSU Network ID and password. If you're not able to get connected, contact the VCEA IT Helpdesk for assistance.

(If you see something similar to the following image, it likely means that you're not properly connected to the WSU SSL VPN... see the top of this article for help)

  2. After logging in, you will see a screen with recent connections and a tree of options. Click on the plus sign [+] next to VCEA to expand the connection tree. (Make sure to click the [+] and not "VCEA" to get the tree to expand.

Continue expanding the tree until you find the connection you're looking for and click on the connection.

  3. Now, you should see the login screen for your computer. Log in as you normally would, and you can use your system remotely.

Congrats! You've connected to your WSU system!

(Optional) Use the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl + Shift + Alt" to access the Guacamole User menu, where you can find connection settings, and disconnect from your session or log out of connect.vcea.wsu.edu by clicking your username in the top right corner of the menu.
