Flagging a Course to Send to Canvas

This step is required for any non-cross listed course to be sent to Canvas.

**Global Campus Courses Are Usually Combined and Flagged Differently in the "Flagging Combined Sections" below.

In addition, courses in the "AOI" sub account are limited to AOI users.

To flag a class to be sent to Canvas, navigate to Main Menu / Curriculum Management / Schedule of Classes / Maintain LMS Course Spaces. Once on this page, search for the class in question. Select "Canvas" from the LMS dropdown and save the page. Please note that courses are not sent to Canvas until the course is also active and approved. If you are not able to make adjustment, first check the "Override Configuration" checkbox, and review the "Warning" section of the page to confirm if changes are still allowed.

Merging Non Cross Listed Sections into a Single Course Space

Navigate to Main Menu / Curriculum Management / Schedule of Classes / Maintain LMS Course Spaces and navigate to the parent course. While viewing the parent course, click the "+" button to merge additional sections. Current sections can also be removed by selecting the "-" button.

Users may then select to filter by "Same Term", "Same Subject", and "Same Campus" when searching for sections to add. After the appropriate selection is made, select the lookup next to the "Class Nbr" field to select a section to merge. Finally, follow the prompts on the screen to confirm your selection. Once complete. the new section will display on the page in the "This Section is Merged with the Following Sections" component. Click "Save".

Flagging Courses to Send to Canvas - Flagging Combined Sections

Only Campus Schedulers have access to edit courses within the Combined Sections Table. Department schedulers should contact their Campus Scheduler to make changes to courses within a combined section if needed.

Changes to courses in the "AOI" sub account are limited to AOI users.

The parent of the combined section and Canvas attribute can be adjusted at Main Menu / Curriculum Management / Schedule of Classes / Maintain LMS Course Spaces. On the page select the "Primary Section" checkbox next to the desired section. section. Follow the prompts on the screen to confirm the selection. Next, select "Canvas" from the LMS dropdown.  Click "Save".
