All loaned equipment MUST be returned no later than 30 days after a student’s last day of enrollment at WSU, unless otherwise notified. Students can expect to receive multiple communications to their WSU email with their specific return deadline and further return instructions at the end of an academic semester.


Failure to return all loaned equipment within the specified timeframe after receiving multiple communications will result in a charge for all missing devices and accessories being applied to the student’s WSU account.


Unreturned Chromebooks will amount to a charge of up to $300 for the purchase of the Chromebook and missing accessories. Unreturned hotspots will amount to a charge of up to $150 for the purchase of the hotspot and missing accessories.


Once a charge is processed, the sale is final. Charges are unable to be reversed if the equipment is later returned.


How to Return Loaner Chromebooks and Hotspots


In-Person Returns

If you are in Pullman, please drop off all loaned equipment at Crimson Service Desk in Smith Center for Undergraduate Education (CUE) 302.


Crimson Service Desks accepts in-person returns during regular business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday).


Please return the loaned device(s) with all provided cables and chargers in the original box (if you have it). A fee of $15 will be applied to your WSU account for any unreturned charging cords.


Mail Returns

If you are not in Pullman, please return the loaned Chromebook via mail. Information Technology Services (ITS) does not cover shipping expenses.


Inside the return package, please include a note with your Name, WSU ID Number, and “Attn: Sam Syms ITB 1080” on it.

Once the loaned equipment is shipped, please send an email to crimsonservicedesk@wsu.edu with your Name, WSU ID Number, the type of device you are returning (Chromebook and/or hotspot), and the tracking number from USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.
