For a helpful visual guide Zoom has provided a YouTube video to showcase the AI Companion Meeting Summary feature.
Other relevant resources:
Enable Meeting Summary
- Navigate to Settings → AI Companion in the Zoom web portal.
- Toggle on Meeting summary with AI Companion.
- Make sure to uncheck the “Turn on meeting summary automatically when meetings start”
- Set Automatically share summary with → Only me (meeting host) so it doesn’t auto-email everyone.
Start Meeting Summary in a Meeting
- At the start of your meeting, verbally tell participants you’re turning on AI Companion Meeting Summary.
- Then click the AI Companion button in the meeting controls; Zoom will display a banner/notification to participants that Meeting Summary is active.
- Your AI Companion icon will be flashing at the top of the meeting and when it is selected will show which features are running and the option to Stop AI Companion, which confirms it’s running.
Share Meeting Summary after a Meeting
- After the meeting, the summary email will go only to you as host so you can review and edit it. You can also find the meeting summary in the Summaries page via the Zoom web portal.
- After you have reviewed the summary you can share it out using the share button from the Zoom web portal or you can copy and paste it into an email to send out.
