Instructions

  1. Open Settings on your Android phone or tablet, then select Wi‑Fi to see available networks.

  2. From the list, select WSU Wireless or WSU Wireless Aruba, depending on which network you want to connect to.

  3. In the Identity field, enter your Network ID (NID).

    • Your NID is the first part of your WSU email address. For example, Butch.Cougar@wsu.edu has the NID butch.cougar.

  4. If your device shows an Anonymous identity field, leave it blank.

  5. In the Password field, enter your NID password, the same password used for WSU email and MyWSU.

  6. Where it asks you to Select certificate, choose either Trust on first use (TOFU) or Do Not Validate.

  7. For EAP method, select PEAP.

  8. For Phase 2 authentication, select MSCHAPV2.

  9. Select Connect. Your device will show “Obtaining IP address from WSU Wireless (or WSU ResNet)” and then shortly after “Connected to WSU Wireless (or WSU ResNet).”

  10. If your device asks for a Domain, enter wsu.edu.

Important: Press Cancel to return to the previous screen if needed. Do not press Forget, or you will have to re-enter all configuration information.

If you encounter any difficulties or have questions, please email at crimsonservicedesk@wsu.edu for assistance.

Just a note that this needs to be re-done when the MyWSU password (email/Workday/etc.) gets reset.

This method also works for devices running Ubuntu that are having trouble connecting.
