To get a subscriber list for Mailman:

  1. Go to lists.wsu.edu and select the option to “Manage a List”
  2. Once you are signed in click on “Go to the general list information page

3. Scroll down to where is says “Visit Subscriber List”

4. This is where your list of subscribers will show.  For example, on our test list we have 3 people listed as members. You will note that the email addresses have the word “at” instead of the “@” symbol in the address. This is the biggest change that you will need to make when pulling data from your list.

5. Highlight your list of subscribers and “copy” them to the clipboard.

6. Now you need to open Excel to get these into a usable format. Highlight your column and “Paste” the addresses into Excel. Be sure to choose the paste option to “Keep Source Formatting” to keep the email address format.

7. In Excel, go to the “Home” menu, Select “Editing”, “Find & Select,” then choose “Find Replace.”

8. This will give you a screen where you can find the “at” and replace it with “@” then select “Replace All” Please note that there is a space between the NID and the “at” in the list. When you do your replacement make sure that you include a space before and after the “at” so when it is replaced, the spaces are removed.

9. You will get a confirmation when complete and your list will be updated to accurate email addresses.
